Electrex Replacement Alternator Rotor?

#1 PostAuthor: kwikkwak » Sat Aug 28, 2021 11:03 am

Hi Zedders,

Bike is a Z1000 A2 crank - no woodruff key slot to crank taper.

Please can anyone give any feedback on how the replacement Electrex rotors RO99 perform when fitted to a keyless crank taper - are they any good, any fitment issues - starter clutch dragging etc?

Are they worth the money to get the 'billet' rotor and are they better than the now very old OEM rotor design?

Any further tips to fit any rotor to the taper so it does not come loose? - lapping with grinding paste, Locktite torque to fixing bolt etc - what is the best Locktite product to use?

Anything else that anyone has found to help achieve a robust fixing method?

Any help or comments would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I once used Loctite to hold a rotor to a crank taper. Lots of regrets afterwards  Don't do that.

Had a bad experience with an Electrex rotor supplied by Zpower, was a long time ago and may have been some sort of prototype jobby, I’d just get an oem design rotor from PMC. :D
