Guys, I don't have anything to compare the valve and collet shapes with sooooooo....

Is this round or square??
Yes I know its a stupid question but I just need clarification :D Eyesight ain't as good as it was either!!
It's out of a z1b but may have been replaced at some point.

It's not round or square it's a chamfered square.
Bit like this \_______/ but the angle of the lower chamfer is less than the higher one.

Even though it's not actually square , That is known as a square keeper and groove.
