ELR seat cover

#1 PostAuthor: Skid Mark » Fri Mar 18, 2022 4:47 pm

Hi again!
I know this has been discussed but any references I have found are dead ends. I'm not on facebook or else the links in the old posts are broken.
Any suggestions for recovering seats? Whole service or just the cover. There are a few on ebay but I'm afraid of what they will be like in the flesh.
I think the foam is okay.
I know it is best to send the seat for recovering professionally, but with the hassle I've had getting items between Ireland and UK lately I am very nervous of sending a seat on a two way journey. any advice welcome.

If you can get one from PMC in Japan they make a good one I got one a while ago but they’re not cheap can’t remember what I paid but they’re probably dearer now. Look on Wemoto. The pic on there isn’t great to be honest but the one I got looks to me like the real thing - haven’t fitted it yet due to various holdups but I can take a pic if you want a look at it.

Thanks Z1bman,
The vinyl on the existing cover has a distinct weave pattern. I would hope to get something closer to this.

it's still in the bag hard to get an idea of the shape until we get it on a seat but I'd say the Japanese do it correctly this might give you an idea of the material it's made of...

I got it through a UK supplier but it's another layer of complication for you now - there's a few PMC/Doremi sellers kicking about most have to order from Japan anyway as it's generally not a stock item. Webike should give you an delivery estimate before you buy if you ask.

Mine's the DoRemi (see below) one btw which is cheaper than the PMC but seems fine

I had three done by Bob the Seat last year.

New foam and cover and fitting £150 each. May be a bit more now.
