Swingarm z1000/750

#1 PostAuthor: Panda » Thu Oct 27, 2022 6:49 pm

Some technical advice sought please. can you fit a swingarm from an 80s z750 into a 79 z1000ltd? Ive found a old school type braced swinger and as i was intending on converting to 18inch on the rear wheel would use the whole 750 rear assembly. Im not fazed by making spacers etc. Thanks

The main measurement that you need to insure is wide enough is the rear axle and then the depth to insure an 18 wheel will fit in, your shocks might end up being either to long or to short depending on their position in relation to the pivot axle, what 750 is the swing arm from? can you lay them side by side?
Angus.

Too many bikes to list.

The 650/750 frames are 230mm at the pivot as opposed to 235mm for the 900/1000's so you will need a 2.5mm spacer each side.
Apart from that and some minor details it should be an easy swap.

I've got an old Dresda box section swing arm I'd sell if it's of use.
Came of a Z1000A1.
