Out for quick road test
Put new shims in yesterday so thought I should take it out today to bed them in a bit
Underwater shots are quite tricky
I have also put some lower bars on which I find more comfortable

Lower bars.....what on earth were you thinking.
But seriously, good to see the old girl out and about.
Cheers

Re: Out for quick road test
As this is originally a USA KZ1000 A2 it would have Z1 style high bars as standard - with something like a 5 1/2 inch lift.
The UK A2 had lower bars and I think the ones fitted now may be closer to original uk spec.
I have owned this bike since 2013 so have definitely given the high bars a thorough trial!
If you look at the last picture in particular - there is still a fair height to them - and if I change my mind I can always swap back.
Anyone thinking about doing this you also have to factor in the cost of shorter throttle cables and top brake hose. Oddly the clutch cable seems to work ok at the moment but I am keeping an eye on it.
Cheers Kev

Re: Out for quick road test
Nice looking bike and good to see it being used!
Re: Out for quick road test
I tried lower bars on my z900A4 for a Europe trip so I wasn't a human sail on the motorway but it made the steering a lot heavier, as you were more "over" the front wheel

That looks nice Kev

Cheers Tonto - I believe you have seen it 'in the flesh' at WIllingham albeit a few years ago.
(btw - still working on the 400 - hopefully will get it all back together and working in the next few weeks)

Kev, I do recall seeing you over at Willingham but thought you were on a Z1r and another time on a Z1000A1 - the mists of time / senior moment
I've also not finished my triple - hopefully the last bit of the jigsaw is the paint set, which is due back from darkest Ilkeston in the next few weeks.
Cheers Tim
