I've seen a finned points cover, a clutch pushrod adjuster cover, a clutch cover but never a starter motor cover- the rest are alloy, joined to the engine by a gasket ( so finning them may cool the engine) . But the starter cover is steel and insulated from the engine by a rubber gasket , so finning it may do little except make cleaning a hassle. (IMHO) However if anyone has one I stand corrected

Try john browse he had some finned covers in a box at Stratford auto jumble last sun
