After soaking my 4 x KZ1000CSR Carb Bodies in Diesel for 6 weeks and rebuilding them with new internals and Viton O-Rings etc this weekend, I finally got to my first start after valve shimming (only needed to change 2), fresh oil and filters with plugs, HT Leads and fuel and it started first time off the button. 30 minutes later after mixtures fine tuned with a Gunston Colour tune Plug and synchronisation complete, I am over the moon with the results and can get a very even smooth tick-over when warmed up of around 800rpm (though set at 1000rpm). What a superb sound these engines make when running correctly and its took me back to the early 80's when I last owned a Zed Thou !
Love this bike and cannot wait to complete it and ride in Spring 2025 !

A satisfying moment ! The hard work and effort all pays off.
Do it right - do it once ....
That superb sound is part of why we do it !
Spring '25 is just around the corner now.....

You have a real treat in store if youre used to the KS motor. Hyvo J motors run up like a turbine engine and the combined Hyvo / induction noise is absolutely addictive and encourages you to just keep winding and winding it on.
