That looks like a really nice job on the wheel. Have you seen the mod where they drill out the rivett at the root of each of the spokes and put a bolt and locknut through there?
It may have been for the Heskeths' i dont know but mine which is the same wheel as yours was done before i got it. Definately provides some security and re-assurance should the worst happen.

Yes, though I have a pair of wheels that go one better, the rivets were drilled out, the rims cut away from their spokes and the rims used to make an entirely new wheel, using countersunk bolts, threaded into the alloy 'centre'.. no need for unsightly nuts on the other side..

That would have been a lot of drill and tap time but results speak for themselves. Very purposeful and unique into the bargain. Do i take it you run tubes in them? I do with the Astralites because it would be unthinkable for the gasket to let go if a rivett popped or similar. Tubes do cause me a few problems but not something i could consider living without and no real regrets after ten years on track so mustnt complain.
Your built up wheels put me in mind of these a little. Also nearly unique as i believe they are only on the GPz 750's framed by P&M and they didnt make many.
Agree with your comment about the bolts and nuts, it does look a little shonky but there for a reason and it seems to work.

No, I run tubeless tyres, there is sealant between the inner rim edge the the alloy centre.

Those wheels were originally made for my Supertwins drag bike, by a mate of mine... they got recycled and went on my 650/1170..

Got it. Having persevered for many years with tubes in mine i was offered some spray sealer by the tech at the bike shop that fit my tyres.
Initially i thought it was an answer but decided against it ultimately so still have tubes in tubeless tyres!!!!
I think its the stuff for wheels with two lines of spokes as opposed to the single central procession but didnt follow it up.

Brake side rear set done, now needs to be hard anodised, but that can wait..

Finally got tyres on the R6 wheels, front wheel went in, but the rear will have to wait as the cush rubbers I bought aren't the correct ones. At least I fitted the aftermarket stainless pillion grab handles. I wasn't going to bother fitting those, but pushing my other Z650B backwards up a slight incline, convinced me that they are needed.

Another cock up by me..Came to fit the Gold spot calipers, only to find they didn't fit with the discs in place. Odd as the front end is from a 2003-4 R6.. After further checking, it seems I had bought discs from a 05 R6.. which are 10mm bigger in diameter.. So they will have to go, and the correct discs bought. Decided against buying a used pair, didn't want the risk of worn or warped discs. Ordered a new pair of aftermarket discs for a good price from a company called Comet.. probably Chinese, but they have some good reviews on various forums.

Also weighed the bike as it sits now.. 81kg in total. No idea how that compares to a standard bike in the same state, but for sure its a lot than stock.

The replacement discs arrived, made by Comet, probably Chinese, but they had some decent reviews, and at £79 each, same price as a used and possibly worn out OEM R6 disc. One change, I swapped the Gold spots for Blue spots, as the gold spots colour didn't look right with the gold of the wheel/disc. Luckily the Candy apple blue paint is a good match for the new calipers.

With the brakes fitted, I could measure the length of brake lines I'll need, and ordered them from HEL.

Fitted the dyna coils, note the heat shrink used as insulation on two of the spacers.

A few small changes too, such as machining down the rear brake torque arm, as it looked too fat..
