Keihn 1200 SI16 carbs - which z or bike?

#1 PostAuthor: zed9 » Wed Aug 27, 2025 9:14 pm

These 34mm keihn carbs were fitted to a very poor condition Z900 A4 inport purchased from a company that says "runs on easy start" (year right!).

Which z if any are these from or bike as the only 34mm carbs fitted to zeds i have seen have a pull choke not a leaver. Cams are standard and pistons seem to be too looking through plug hole.

Fitted 26mm carbs, refurbished bike and was inspected while applying for V5 which arrived last week so happy daze :) .

Z1000j series.

If you need VM26's I've got a really good set spare.

Thanks for the offer warren but i have vm26 carbs fitted and running.

The only z1000j carbs i have see have a pull choke not a lever like my Keihin ones and similar to mikuni vm26/28 carbs.

I have only seen Mikuni CV carbs, BS34mm spec'd for the J series 1000 and 1100's.
If those are 32mm internal they could be a close match for Z750.

I have some the same from a Z650 spares bike I bought, though the stamped number is different

The opinion from KZR was Z750

Thanks Al the Mikuni 34's are the ones i have seen for J's on ebay but no Keihin and google search sows nothing. They are 34mm internal bore so the mystery remains.
May have to ask on vintage site or message Keihin directly.
