Geoff

In a world of global warming, I have to take my hat off to you for introducing the concept of the disposable tent, use it once then leave it.

More pics I seem to have sussed out how to post them... at last!

These people have saved lots of bikers lives but sadly not on this occasion (Nothing to do with rally or z1oc )

Hobbo

Go for it! I rushed to see the guy knocked down as I am first aid trained but he was clearly gone, CPR would have been useless. Looking into a dead man's eyes is extremely sobering, something I won't forget for a long time.

I felt like flogging all my bikes after that.

Soz it's taken me so long to appear in cyber land tonight, but the Old Gurl needed cleaning D: Twas a long ride home. It pissed down for England Ireland and Scotland on me and Mikey for a good hundred miles ... but you know -- It couldn't ruin my day!

Anyone who has read many of my posts will know that aprt from being a tosser I have often waxed lyrical about how wonderful this club is. I met a few of the boyz at the Ace, but this was my first full blown rally! Yes my opinion of what a great bunch of ladz the members of this club are was truly driven home this weekend. I was pretty sure of this, else I wouldn't have put my neck on the block as SW area rep, but know I really have something to live up to.

Hobbo ... how can I put it? You did a fab job (I'll take the piss about the run later  ) Piss takin' aside, this rally didn't organise itself - You and Sandy must have put in some serious effort and you both deserve recognition for it! A serious heart felt thank you for a wonderful weekend :D

I am so pleased that the club is going to make a donation to the Air Ambulance. The incident was a tragedy. For those who weren't there, it was a lad high on atmosphere at Squires, who did what we have all done, gave it beanz leaving a venue, probably concentrating on the show he was giving to his mates and not what was in front of him. I have had a good number of very serious accidents on bikes and when I heard that terrible noise of a bike meeting a car and tarmac a shiver ran down my back and I was transported back to that film clip where I'm regaining consciousness and there's a geezer in green asking me what my name is and do I know where I am and he is set in a back drop of sky .. the pain hasn't started yet, I'm still concious and I am beginning to realise I've been here before and I now start to panic, I now realise I've had another crash, how bad am I this time? Will I live? Will I walk again? fuck .... fuck ... I'm a c*** ... I know I am ... it's just starting to come back to me ... I was tanking it .... what a prick I am ... what was I thinking of ... please God please let me live ... I promise I'll never ride again ... God I am scared ... I really hate myself, why do I have to ride so fast .... please, please give me another chance ......... I've been really lucky I'm here still. After eight years out of the saddle, I hope I've learned that I'm not immortal. I have no idea who that guy was, but I really hope there is an after life, cos no one deserves such a harsh punishment, for such a mistake.

On a lighter note ... All you piss takers who thought the route Mikey and myself took was complex, an believe me it was, it was absolutely great. As I said to a few of the ladz ... you've got 260 + miles to do ... you can sit on the motorway looking at scenery, that on the whole is mind numbingly boring with nothing to think about except that your backside feels as though you have come last in an arse kicking competition or you can make the ride a lot longer and drink of some of the most stunning scenery Britain has to offer and constantly steer your Zed around a plethora of bends each and everyone different from the last. As I was riding back, when the rain was starting to abate, I started thinking about the Current Bride who is on her hols in Turkey ... and thought ... I wouldn't swap places with her for all the tea in China! Riding up through the Wye Valley under a canopy of trees and every few seconds another smell funnelling through my Arai of some different type of tree, or whatever ... I know jack shit about different trees, but when I ride amongst them I know what's important - they are beautiful. A number times my senses were assaulted by the strong smell of natural wild garlic as we flicked our bikes through the bends ... fuck the motorways we had a ball!

We stopped in Ludlow for some grub on the way up; Mikey at the troff!
Image

Our bikes in Ludlow ... we were too tight to go into the castle, but it's just to the right of the bikes .. out of shot :D
Image

I think this was some where in the Peak District ... I was so overcome with the view I pulled in and had a quick snap!. I wish I had taken more to show you guys, but the hooning was so good we struggled to stop anywhere :D
Image

We stopped for tea some were, it was a really nice place. Naturally a quick snap gives it no justice!
Image

Do I look fat in this jacket, The current bride keeps tellin me I need a diet not a bigger jacket, the jacket seems the easier option to me
Image

Yes of course we're all telapathic Hobbo!!!

This geezer is 65 and still races this Vinny .. top bloke and a please to talk to

Sorry to be so late getting my thoughts on this thread. Been catching up with the things I was supposed to be doing when away!

So many important things to say - so in no particular order:-

1. A big thank you to Mr and Mrs Hobbo for the work they put into this event. So many details and nice touches for a large number of people. The success of this event was down to the quality and care you put into it.

2. It was great to meet so many of you - to put a face to your name. Every time I see a post from one of you I will recall this weekend at the same time and that makes it special. This was my first Z1OC event and I was in trepidation of what I might encounter.

3. It was brilliant to talk to so many Z heads. Everyone I spoke with had a different perpective on what "Zeding" is about. It was refreshing to have a mix of views, be they technical, opiniated or just funny - the crack was outstanding.

4. There some really decent people in this club - and it was a priviledge to be amongst some of you over the weekend. My job takes me the length and bredth of the country and I now have invitations for a "tea stop" in virtually every corner - thanks to all concerned.

5.Thanks for the pictures - I'm missing it already!

6. The Craven collection was remarkable - I still haven't worked out how he started it. A man after my own heart - he doesn't clean or restore them! See if you can get him to join the club - I want to see how long the list would be at the end of his signature and what he would call that BSA/H*nda:lol:

7. A big thank you to Geoff who was helping me out, putting up with me being late, navigating us to the front door and kept us on a steady course through some pretty foul weather on the way home....and Geoff you do have a crushing handshake - I think its because you use your drinking arm

8. Send the donation - anything that helps to prevent a repeat of the tragedy that we witnessed can only be a good thing.

9. Thank you to my Z! The old dog has never had much attention - just a light service and a ticket once a year. It doesn't go further than 50 miles at a time and so I was bricking it wondering how it would stand up to this experience. It didn't miss a beat, the run(520 miles in 3 days) has cured the slow running problem it had and I've finally worked out what the handling problem is caused by.

10. Last - I'm going to do a modded Zthou :p34

Regards to all
