Cam Cap Bolt Spec ?

#1 PostAuthor: dwhitehouse » Sat Feb 25, 2023 3:26 pm

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I can't get the search to work very well.

What are the spec of the cam cap bolts please ? I think someone has put cam cover bolts in mine

M6 x 1 x 45 ? 8.8 or 10.9 tensile ?

Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by cam cap bolts?
Do you mean the cam top cover bolts which are chrome or the ones which hold the cam bearings in place under the cover?

The ones that hold the camshaft bearings caps down.

Not the chrome cam cover bolts.

Thanks.

Cam cover and cap bolts are the same.
Kawasaki part number 92003-092 - m6 x45mm.
Depending on year the bolts were either chrome, zinc plated and then black.
Chrome usually on the earlier models.
That goes for cover and cap bolts.
And at 10ftlb max you aren't going to snap them anyway no matter what grade they are.

They are prone to stretching. Best to replace with genuine from Zpower or Cradley Heath kawasaki
