Re: cam timing....
Hi guys,
I'm checking the cam timing on my A4. Looking at Andys timing marks he has the same as mine, i.e. in clockwise order the marks are T 1 f 4. The cam timing mark i assume is the T which is the 1st mark of the 4 marks.
However when you look in the manual, the T mark is the 2nd mark of the series of 4, as it shows 1 T F 4 and the T mark in the manual is aligned with the casing mark for cam timing, so in summary the manual timing mark is the 2nd position of the 4 marks, where as Andy has shown his lining up with the first mark, making the 2 settings in different positions within the series of 4 marks.
Hope that makes sense?
Can anyone confirm if we use the T mark regardless of it's position in the series of 4 marks please?
Many grateful thanks
Mark

Re: cam timing....
The T mark is Top dead center.
The 1 - 4 just indicates which two cylinders are at TDC or firing when those marks line up with the mark on the cases.
The actual order of the 1 - 4 ( or 2-3 ) in relation to the T and F doesn't matter.
