a4 caliper shaft bolts
does anybody know if the a4 caliper shaft bolts are still available.
Mine are scruffy but could possibly be rechromed if new are not available.

Re: a4 caliper shaft bolts
no I'm not sure, as they where/are badly painted black and have some surface rust.

Re: a4 caliper shaft bolts
Don't know what the coating/plating was originally on these bolts, but it was a sort of drab/olive green finish.
The stainless steel ones in the link above look like they're machined to accept O-rings, which is a bit strange as the carriers have O-rings fitted.
£35 is very steep for one bolt though, I'm sure you should be able to have some made yourself for less than that !

The bolts on my old A4 were a bit shitty so when I rebuit the caliper I just polished the heads on the buffer which come up not far off chrome...

Re: a4 caliper shaft bolts
I have restored a few A4 calipers and the original finish on these bolts was olive drab ( same as the original finish on your carb clamps)
There are plating companies that will do this finish for you but I asked the platers I use for zinc plating all my nuts and bolts and they said they could achieve a black finish by zinc plating then black passivation. This produced a very durable black finish virtually indistinguishable from the original and cheap as chips!
Worth a try.
