Z650 fuel linkage O rings

#1 PostAuthor: mattc » Thu Jan 21, 2021 9:00 pm

I am looking to put new O rings on the three metal fuel linkage pipes that fit between the carbs on a Z650B1, one T piece and 2 straight pieces.
(92005-1010 & 92005-1009)

They seem to be the same sizes so need 12 O rings in total. Anyone know what sizes O rings I need or where I can get them from? You can buy the complete parts from Z-Power and CMS but they are pretty expensive.

Thanks for any help
Matt

7.5 id x 1.8 cross section give or take have a troll around 'O' ring suppliers you should find something close to that, the ports are around 11mm id from memory. If I am incorrect somebody will be along to let you know :)

if you still have the original joints fitted the part that looks like an o ring is part of the fitting & cannot be removed. you will have to purchase the stainless steel kit that you can buy from z power & has separate o rings fitted

650 B1's do have removable o rings from new. Later models had o rings moulded into the t and straight piece.
Halfrauds do a viton multi o ring set which has the correct size in it. Cant recall how many in the set so you may need two.
Cheap enough and you get some spares and a stock of other sizes to boot.

No these O rings definitely come off, and the metal parts do look like they are original 43 years old...the sizes that Keith suggested look about right. Thanks, Matt

Thanks, I have just checked the od of the grooves in the metal linkage pieces and they are 8.2mm.....so an O ring id of 8mm or slightly less should be good. Cheers

8 X 2 is the size you want Matt. Nice tight squish fit. They are in the Halfrauds pack.

Yes they did z1bman. Both my 650's have them fitted. One of which I have owned from new. Both are 650 b1's as is Matt's.

i worked at cradley for over thirty years as a mechanic & have stripped many of these carbs & have never seen them with removable o rings if they had removable o rings they would be shown in the parts diagrams or parts microfiche. contact dave marsden at z power if you want more confirmation
