Valve Guide for Z1900

#1 PostAuthor: KwakaRascal » Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:14 pm

Hi,
Looking for an Inlet & Exhaust valve guide.
They can be new or old ( ideally Bronze type).
Reason being, am going to have replacement oversize ones made but need a pattern part to work to.
The ones currently in the head are nothing like the originals.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks
Russ.

hi russ, it's probably more economical to replace the lot rather than source two, buy the metal and turn a new set out. these are available in the UK...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303584659196 good luck..

You can buy oversize aluminium bronze guides for these from APE.
All the z650 - 900 to gpz1100 aircooled and Suzuki GS1000 are the same fitting.
They have a machined shoulder rather than a circlip and sit lower in the head for high lift cam clearance so maybe this is what you currently have fitted.
They are around £13 each which may be cheaper than having one offs made.
Various OD oversizes are available.
Here's a link to Nicks UK shop who can supply them.

Hi 8 valve Mark,
Yeah your right, i will replace all eight.
Just need a pattern to work to.
Also, chances are I’ll have to have made oversize to fit into head.
Thanks
