matching numbers

#1 PostAuthor: Kennyboy » Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:26 pm

I have a Z1b, American import that was first UK registered in 2011, Whilst I understand that the engine and frame numbers are usually a few numbers out, the numbers on mine are 114 out. Z1F 64236, Z1E 64350.

Could they be this far apart at manufacture or is there a possibility that its had and engine swap at some point ? The bike is a keeper for me so not a problem if its to far out for factory fitted, just my curiosity.

Cheers, Kenny

Numbers within a few hundred are the closest they usually get to matching.
Yours are very close and would have been like that from the factory.

Depends on who you speak to numbers within 300 - 500 apart are considered 'Matching'.

That's pretty close for a Z1b.
The later in the model range the wider apart the numbers became.
My Z1a has then 15 apart.
