If you could use a Mk2 600 front wheel I have one kicking around here that you could have. But as you no doubt know, the Mk2 does not have a speedo drive.
cheers mate

ive got a Mk1 600 wheel on its way as they are 3inch and use a 110 tyre, the Mk2 is 3.5 inch and uses a 120 tyre, i already have a B12 wheel thats the same size as the B6 Mk2 but wanted the slightly slimmer wheel. (although the B12 wheel fits in) but the Mk1 B600 wheel has the curved spokes to match the rear already fitted.
by the way the Mk2 600 and 1200 wheels have the notches in the hub for the speedo drive, they just use a spacer in stead as the Mk2 as you know has an electronic speedo.

Re: Z1000 LTD to standard
I had no idea that a mk2 600 wheel was wider than a Mk1 erm... one.
Funnily enough (to me at least) was that I have just come in from my "shed" where I have been machining spacers in readiness to fit a bandit wheel to a set of GSXR1000 (2018) forks. With your info regarding a 600 wheel being 3.5 inches, I may well be able to use that rather than having to strip a 1200 front end of its wheel.
I love your build thread as it inspires me to pull my finger out. I have a z650 frame (that had been fitted with a Z1 tank), I have a Z1 tank, a spare engine or three (but they are more OSS than zed) so in theory, I could build a nice non original zed.
One day.

I like building "mongrels" this is the fourth Zed ive done ( 2 with bandit engines) and other Suzuki parts. I'd like to see your builds ?
I think the second Zed I built was the best but like an idiot I sold it

this one.

Re: Z1000 LTD to standard
still waiting for the wheel to turn up !!! but I have a pair of Nissin 4 pot callipers off a 1200 bandit i was gona use, they need a strip down and a fresh coat of paint, but came across a pair of Nissin 2 pots of a modern Z650, so bought them, they are in near mint condition and very cheap, thought it more fitting to use Kawasaki parts
will need a mounting bracket making though.

Re: Z1000 LTD to standard
wheel finally turned up (fecking Evri) B12 disc's fitted and cardboard template made for calliper mounts, just waiting for some 10mm ally plate. still need to sort out some sort of speedo drive !!!! will try and reduce a B6 one down enough to fit ?? then its practically done. happy with the look so far.

Re: Z1000 LTD to standard
Does the speedo cable match the Z clocks ?

cheers marmck

give it a little run round the block, everything seems ok, but one BIG difference is the front brakes, the pads are not bedded into the disc's yet but they work soooooo well

cheers Dave, yeah pretty much done, nothing else I want to change really, just need to sort a chainguard as i havent got one. if anything it'll be some mild tuning, got an air corrector kit that I'll fit with different jetting, but don't know if I want to ditch the airbox or not ? and do away with the points.
